MARCUS B
"FIRST OF ALL, I'D LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR CHECKING OUT MOUNTAIN METAL. OUR PASSION FOR MAKING THINGS RUNS DEEP AND WE FEEL INCREDIBLY FORTUNATE TO DO WHAT WE LOVE." - MARCUS, OWNER
MARCUS, AS A YOUNG CHILD HE WAS MORE INTERESTED IN DISMANTLING HIS TOYS AND MAKING SOMETHING OUT OF THE BOX THEY CAME IN RATHER THAN ACTUALLY PLAYING WITH THEM. "I'VE ALWAYS BEEN INCREDIBLY CURIOUS ABOUT HOW THINGS WORK AND THE BEST WAY TO FIND OUT IS TO TAKE IT APART."
THAT CURIOSITY LED MARCUS DOWN THE MECHANICAL DESIGN PATH WHERE HE EARNED A MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEGREE AND SPENT 14 YEARS BUILDING BIM (DIGITAL 3D BUILDING SYSTEMS MODELING] DEPARTMENTS FOR SEVERAL MEP ENGINEERING FIRMS THROUGHOUT NORTHER COLORADO.
ON ONE HAND MARCUS IS VERY MECHANICALLY AND TECHNOLOGY DRIVEN. ON THE OTHER HAND, HE IS A BIT OF AN ADRENALINE JUNKY. WITH HIS LOVE FOR 2-WHEELED SPORTS AND SNOWMOBILING HE STARTED DESIGNING AND MANUFACTURING COMPONENTS FOR MOUNTAIN BIKES, DIRT BIKES AND SNOWMOBILES. "THE COMPONENTS WE MANUFACTURE ARE USUALLY PROTECTORS FOR PARTS WE'VE BROKEN ON OUR OWN MACHINES".
MARCUS TRULY EATS, SLEEPS AND LIVES ADRENALINE SPORTS COMPONENT DESIGN, PROTOTYPING AND MANUFACTURING. SEVERAL YEARS AGO, HE PURCHASED A 10-ACRE MOUNTAIN TOP IN THE FOOTHILLS OF FORT COLLINS TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO MANUFACTURE AND TEST PRODUCTS ALL IN ONE PLACE.
SHOP INSPECTORS
BETWEEN CHASING VERMIN AROUND THE PROPERTY AND SLEEPING, TORQUE AND QUICK KEEP THE SHOP RUNNING SMOOTHING. BOTH PRIOR SERVICE DOG TRAINEES WHO DECIDED TO MAKE A CAREER CHANGE. TORQUE WAS A LITTLE TOO BIG/ STRONG AND TENDS TO PULL A LITTLE HARD ON THE HARNESS AND QUICK BROKE HER FEMUR PLAYING WITH THE OTHER PUPPIES DURING TRAINING. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THEY WERE BOTH A LITTLE BUMMED ABOUT LOSING THEIR JOBS. WE OFFERED THEM THE SHOP INSPECTOR POSITIONS AND THEY GLADLY ACCEPTED.
ALL PARTIES COULDN'T BE HAPPIER.
